Music Production Malta

Sam specializes in orchestral work where he scores an orchestra arrangement for any given song or piece of music. Using state of the art sound libraries, he can achieve the highest level of realism without having the artist go through the vast expense of hiring a live orchestra or big band.

To enhance music production value, Sam collaborates with Manolito Galea at Lito’s Place, a studio with an international reputation of being one of the best recording studios in Malta.

Perplex City

Perplex City is a song which originally came in as a rough vocal track along with the instruction of, “Make it sound like James Bond.” For inspiration, Sam drew from a vast reservoir of artists from past decades like Shirley Bassey. Mixing with that a bit of research into the “James Bond sound” and the result is this:

Falling for my Soul

Falling for my Soul came to the studio as a demo with voice and a backing track on a single chord – Bb minor throughout. Leaving the melody untouched, Sam broke it into more elaborate harmony and a richer chord progression. The result is a jazz-funk song with a very cool full brass solo:

Hors Du Temps

Hors Du Temps was commissioned for a French short by the same name. You can hear the influences from the French film genre in the following piece:

Atlantis A.D. (TV Series)

This piece was composed for a local TV series called, Atlantis A.D. The series was about 5 kids who stumble upon clues to open the door for the mystical world of Atlantis. The music has an element of magic, sword-fighting, young love and the eternal fight between good vs evil. Here are a few excerpts:

Fersani Fashion Show

This set was composed for the Fersani Fashion Show with a theme on prison and freedom. The music varies from fully electronic to a mix of electronic elements combing with orchestra.

Elodia

Elodia was commissioned by Eric Nelson from Cameroon. It was originally a voice and piano piece and Sam was given free reign. This is the result:

Na monguélè wa..Eu te amo mae is a collaboration between Cameroon and Brazilian artists. Arranged voice harmony parts, recorded piano part, mixed and mastered the final result.
